Hole Five: 225 metres – Gate Green

This dogleg left is protected by a water hazard and OOB all along the left of the fairway and green and with another pond in front of the heavily contoured green. Of greater concern are four pockets of heavy rough dotted around the tee shot landing area. Avoid these by playing to the white rock marker at 186 metres, at this length the fairway is 30+ metres wide. Behind the green the ground slopes towards a road which is in play (not a free drop). Water guards the left front of the green and steep mounds occupy the right half of the green, creating an intimidating approach shot dilemma. Once on the green your troubles are not over, putting will be a challenge. 7 putts before picking up is the record so far.
