Hole Thirteen: 200 metres  – Gate Green

A slightly doglegging-right par four which must be negotiated past several islands of severe (one metre high) rough and stands of kanuka trees to a mounded green protected by water left and behind. The marker peg visible from the tees is 117 metres from the tee and 85 metres from the middle of the green. Another safe zone exists 146 to 170 metres from the tee, between the severe rough islands. Attempting to drive this green is not recommended. And even if you succeed, your troubles may be just starting, this green was recently 7-putted after a superb tee-shot to less than 12 feet from the hole.  Scoring on this hole is so high we have recently doubled the size of the green.
